MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Lakeland High School is to empower students to develop their individual potential by acquiring the knowledge, skills, and values needed to contribute to a healthy, productive community.

BELIEFS STATEMENTS

  • Student learning is the chief priority for our school, and is the primary focus at all decision impacting the work of our school.

  • Students need to demonstrate their understanding of essential knowledge and skills utilizing a variety of avenues including problem solving and hands on experience.

  • Students need to apply their learning in meaningful contexts.

  • Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process.

  • Challenging expectations and appropriate opportunities for success increases individual students performance.

  • Our school promotes the development of individual character and hold students accountable for their behavior and performance.

  • Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs.

  • A safe, positive and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.

  • Cultural awareness increases students' understanding of our nation and world.

  • Teaches, administrators, parents, students and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission.
